<p>A Low carb diet or low carbohydrate diet is a dietary program that limits carbohydrate consumption typically for weight control. Foods high in digestible carbohydrates are restricted or replaced with foods containing a higher percentage of fats and proteins.</p>
<p>A general mistake of low carb diet is to associate low-carb with the very low carb phase of some popular diets, the Induction Phase of the Atkins Diet for instance. These phases are typically intended to be fairly short, with more carbohydrate phased in after that.</p>
<p>However, any diet whose main focus is the carbohydrate reductions in any way is &#8220;low carb&#8221;. Usually, a diet with 40% or less energy from carbohydrates is considered a low-carb diet, though people also determine it in different ways.</p>
<p>A low carb diet is well-known to have given great benefits to the majority of the people. In fact, a low carb diet is regarded as the best diet fad that strikes at the true cause of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, and hypoglycemia. </p>
<p>A Low carb diet is also known for its positive effects on diseases such as anxiety disorder, panic disorder, digestive disorders, high triglycerides, irritable bowel syndrome, binge eating, type 2 diabetes and heart disease. With such results that the low carb diet contributes, many doctors and nutritionists are now starting to recognize the nature about the low carb diet.</p>
<p>When you are on a low carb diet, you must know that foods made from white flour and sugar are prohibited in low carb diet. Most of the fruits in this diet are not allowed. Nevertheless, you still have an option of eating certain fruits. </p>
<p>The amount of carbohydrates per grams allowed on a daily basis varies from one person to the other. Some may need 25 grams or even less amount of carbohydrates in order to lose weight. There are others who can easily lose weight by consuming about 50 or 60 grams on a daily basis.</p>

<p>- Drink plenty of water, at least 8 glasses per day.  Most importantly, drink a glass of water first thing in the morning, instead of fruit juice.  You&#8217;ll rehydrate yourself, put something in your empty stomach and eliminate the calories in the juice.</p>
<p>- Eat slowly.  Savor the taste of your meal and allow your stomach time to send the message that it is full.</p>
<p>- Instead of reaching for a soft drink with its 150-200 empty calories, have a glass of water instead.  If you need a little &#8220;zip&#8221; in your drink, drink sparkling water with a spritz of lemon juice.</p>
<p>- Take a walk.  You don&#8217;t need a gym membership, special clothing, special equipment, or special training to take a walk.  It&#8217;s the most economical exercise you can do.  Try to walk for an hour every day.  If you can&#8217;t walk for an hour, then pick some other time that most fits your schedule, but stick to it.</p>
<p>- Eat dinner four to five hours before going to bed, to give your body a chance to digest the food while you are still active.</p>
<p>As you can tell, these five tips are easy to follow.  You just have to make a conscious commitment to follow them.  Make these tips part of your weight loss plan and follow them.  You may be pleasantly surprised at your results.</p>

You will only end up building lean muscle which will help you burn fat fast. An added benefit of weight training is that your metabolism will remain boosted for one or two hours after you complete the work out. This is vastly different from an aerobic workout which only boosts your metabolism during the workout and returns to normal once the aerobic exercise is completed.

First, if you&#8217;re going to eat a big meal, it HAS TO BE breakfast. This frontloads your calories and allows you to burn them off more easily during the day while you&#8217;re active and not when your metabolism is usually at it&#8217;s slower&#8230; while you sleep.</p>
<p>A good way to do this is to eat a big breakfast and then &#8220;FLATLINE&#8221; your other meals and snacks. This means these other meals and snacks are smaller, but more often.</p>
<p>This improves your digestion big time&#8230; thus freeing up your body to deal with excess weight. When your digestion is burden from a late night big meal, it doesn&#8217;t get burned off because once you go to sleep, your metabolism slows down and conserves.</p>
<p>2. Go for a daily walk after dinner</p>
<p>Now, I don&#8217;t normally advocate simple walking for weight loss. It&#8217;s great for weight maintenance, but just OK for quick fat loss. However, a simple 15-20 minute walk after dinner helps to relax your body and improve your digestive power. The amount of stress you have plays a role in how fast you lose weight. The efficiency of your digestive tract also has a major role in your weight loss progress.</p>
<p>A simple walk helps both of those out. It&#8217;s an indirect way to speeding up your weight loss.</p>

<p>Confused Supplement Seeker,</p>
<p>A few days ago this kid posted his supplement stack pictures. He spends $  400+ a month on supplements! I think I spend under $  50 and that&#8217;s if I&#8217;m being experimental.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ll refrain from talking about brand names and such as I think we all have our opinions on those and many times price is a factor. Let&#8217;s just stick to the overall basics.</p>
<p>So let&#8217;s begin&#8230;</p>
<p>Foundational Supplements:</p>
<p>* Multi-vitamin * Essential Fatty Acid complex</p>
<p>The multi-vitamin will act as an insurance policy. Variety in your diet is great and you should strive for it, but not all of us get everything we need for optimal performance. And with the debates on food quality, it&#8217;s just a decent idea to take a multi- vitamin.</p>
<p>An EFA complex gives you so many benefits to fat burning and muscle building by increasing your metabolism and the heart healthy benefits, it&#8217;s just a must. Eating plenty of fish will help ensure you are getting your Omega acids but again, insurance policy and a decent foundational supplement.</p>
<p>And that&#8217;s it!</p>
<p>Performance/Muscle Building Supplements:</p>
<p>* Whey protein * Creatine</p>
<p>Why isn&#8217;t protein a foundational? Because I believe that if you wanted to, you could get all your protein needs from whole foods. It&#8217;s not a foundational to take a shake even after a workout. And while you can argue that the body will absorb it better and such, it still doesn&#8217;t make it a must even as an insurance policy.</p>
<p>But it sure as heck does help. I think most bodybuilders will take some form of whey shake at some point during the day. My guess is in the morning upon waking up and after a workout.</p>
<p>Good old creatine. It&#8217;s proven in over 300 peer reviewed published articles on it&#8217;s improvements to the bodybuilding athlete.</p>
<p>Optional Supplements:</p>
<p>* Beta-Alanine * Glutamine * Casein * Other proteins</p>
<p>An up-coming major player in coo hoots with creatine is beta- alanine. From my own research and experimentation, it&#8217;s a fine supplement and not a bank breaker. I do stack this with my BCAA supplement that has creatine in it. One to watch at the least.</p>
<p>Glutamine is something that gets a lot of attention but rarely do we find studies that show it&#8217;s clear link to bodybuilding. Needless to say&#8230;</p>
<p>You can try it out if you want.</p>
<p>Casein is just a slower digesting protein. Many people are firm believers in mixing proteins especially at night when you want a slower digesting protein. Some products have protein combinations in them already. Dairy proteins like cottage cheese have casein in them and make a very good nighttime snack.</p>
<p>Other proteins like egg white protein or vegetarian proteins might be something optional if you find it necessary or beneficial.</p>
<p>Experimental Supplements:</p>
<p>* BCAAs * Caffeine * CLA</p>
<p>Branch Chain Aminos are great. Especially in a pre-workout formula. At the moment, I&#8217;ve had great personal success using a BCAA powder with creatine mixed in it. Not something for everybody but if you are looking for that extra edge, BCAA style supplements sure do have a lot of valid research behind them to suggest a performance enhancement.</p>
<p>Caffeine for weight loss or a metabolism boost or maybe you just like your local coffee shop. I don&#8217;t experiment with it at all but I do like my coffee. Many people find that caffeine in coffee or green tea make good herbal weight loss products that are safe.</p>
<p>CLA is an old school healthy fat that get press every now and again. Lately there&#8217;s not much promise in terms of human weight reduction but again, something to consider. Don&#8217;t expert miracles. I tried it once. Interesting. Not a supplement that you&#8217;ll find in my closet though.</p>
<p>Remember, there are hundreds of supplements out there and the list is growing daily. These few are really all you&#8217;ll need in addition to your 5-6 meals a day.</p>
<p>If you were to stick just with the foundational supplements, you would still make fantastic progress and spend under $  30 a month on supplements.
