What is raw food?

It’s a choice made that promotes consumption of organic foods that are raw, uncooked or unprocessed. Have you or someone you know heard about this and are still confused about what this exactly entails? You are not alone; many people want to know what this new diet is all about and what the benefits are.

Don’t be fooled by the word raw. It may sound like a strict boring diet. Many people use this diet in their daily lives. Many make sure about 75% of their daily diet intake is raw food. They believe that this large percentage of what they eat including grains, beans, vegetables, seaweed & nuts will not only improve their health but also aid in weight loss. There are hundreds of recipes that people are willing to share so this diet is far from boring. Lots of people who choose to eat with raw food believe that heating the food over 116 degrees will destroy valuable enzymes and nutrients which the body needs. It helps to digest and absorb the foods which are most beneficial. Eating a diet of raw food will enhance the chances of losing weight naturally. Take celery for example, you burn more calories eating it than the celery can give you. Eating the vegetables raw means less trans fats and saturated fats. This will naturally help your body to burn calories.

* Decreased health problems like heart disease, blood pressure * It will help with your digestion by helping your body absorb the nutrients found in most raw foods. * Your energy will sky -rocket because your body is getting the nutrients it needs. * Your skin will take on a healthy glow because of what is in you and not the make up on you.

If you are wondering if you would benefit from the raw food plan the internet is full of very satisfied people who will gladly testify their results or the benefits it has given them. Keep in mind, not everyone is doing this raw food plan for the same reasons.

Raw Food Books on Sale Put it this way, if your diet is high in meats and your vegetable are not cooked properly like being overcooked, you’re not getting all the nutrients you need. This might be one of the reasons your body becomes sluggish and you’re not feeling the best. No matter how you see this, the benefits you will get from this choice of preparing your food is going to outweigh the benefits of someone who is still eating processed foods loaded with sodium, fats and chemicals.

After reading this, if you are still not sure, my suggestion then is to research the benefits of eating raw foods in your diet. You don’t have to use the internet, go to your local library or your local book store. This plan can change your life and improve the quality of life you deserve.
